Enclave Games Monthly Report: May 2021


Finally, a busy month full of coding, how I missed that! We’ve finished and released NSHex Roulette: a digital expansion to the physical board game Neuroshima Hex, which used Enclave Phaser Template (updated recently to Phaser version 3.55) as the starter.


Beside the usual blog posts or making of’s mentioning all the released projects, I also wrote an article Swag done right where I brag about having nice stuff from GitHub. Seriously, the Skyline is so cool it now took a spot on my desk using Tentocat’s beautiful box as the stand.


Ewa did a whole bunch of banners for our blog posts, judged Web Monetization category entries in Gamedev.js Jam 2021, created missing graphic assets for NSHex Roulette and Body Guard, and designed Forest Cuties from scratch.


I gave a talk about HTML5 games and Web Monetization API during the online 4Developers conference - even though I was the first one that day talking at 9:00 sharp, the attendance was decent enough to get a whole bunch of cool questions which I was answering through the built-in chat for a few good minutes after the presentation ended.


Winners of the Gamedev.js Jam 2021 were announced, along with the best entries submitted to the Web Monetization and Decentralized categories, including the feedback from the experts on those, and the post mortem published a few days later. TL;DR: it was a great success, although I was hoping for a few more entries to the Decentralized category.

Plans for the next month

Publish Forest Cuties, write the summary of our Grant for the Web work, start the preparations to js13kGames 2021, and play with the concept of NFTs using IPFS/NEAR tech to write a useful tutorial introducing folks to Web 3, probably using Forest Cuties demo as the example.
